A team of vampire hunters sponsored by the Vatican set off to stop master vampire Valek from finding the Berziers Cross, an ancient relic that would allow he and his children to walk in daylight!

Now this is the way vampires and their hunters should be. None of this romantical nonsense, no werewolves with whom to fight, no BloodGods, not even any feuding vampire houses, no. Just a bunch of sadistic 30 Days of Night-style blood sucking monsters, led by this guy who can fly and wants nothing more than to see his hunter Jack Crow dead. And that’s another thing – Jack Crow, played by James Woods, who is totally awesome and gets the best one-liners. Tim Guinee is Father Adam, the too-tense priest who turns out to be more of a boon companion than Jack Crow ever would have thought. And we can’t forget a Baldwin, Daniel to be specific, who’s Crow’s right hand man Montoya, loyal and stubborn. Sheryl Lee is Katrina, famous for her role in Twin Peaks among other things, and she does manage a rather interesting if not compelling vampiress role. Thomas Ian Griffith is Valek himself, nearly unrecognizable under all that makeup and fang-y goodness. Of course, besides and awesome cast, a fine story and more enjoyable one-liners than you can stake, it bears mentioning that the movie is directed by the legendary John Carpenter!
